A life well lived.

How to tell a story about Martin? All I can say is he is the wisest, most grounded person I’ve known. Honest, hardworking , and the most unassuming yet brilliant individual. He poured himself into everything he did, and the result was that he did whatever he turned his hand to outstandingly well, and he turned his hand to so much - farming, horticulture, coppicing, motorcycling, marathon running, wood turning, pétanque. In all of these he had an unusual level of  skill, obvious to all, yet quite unremarked by Martin himself. His purpose was always to do his best, and this shone through nowhere more than in his devotion to his family and to doing kindnesses to others. We have lost a great spirit who made the world a better place.
